Thomas J. Drury – COO & Co-Founder

Mr. Drury is the original founder of Tolland Development Company, LLC (TDC) an advanced polymer company founded in 1996. In 1997, along with partners Tom Rallo and Heather Somers, Mr. Drury co-founded Hydrofera LLC as the medical device arm of TDC. Along with Medical customers such as Johnson & Johnson, Zimmer, and Boston Scientific, TDC provides PVA products to semiconductor manufacturers such as Intel and Applied Materials.

Prior to founding TDC and Hydrofera, Mr. Drury served in creative marketing and management positions at Johnson & Johnson, Merocel Scientific Products, National Patent and Graham Medical Products for over 30 years.

Mr, Drury holds a B.S. from Univeristy of Rhode Island, MBA from University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh and studied Managing Innovation at Stanford University.

Mr, Drury served as a board member for several outside civic and professional organizations including the New England Colleges Fund and Health Industry Distributors Association.

Thomas M. Rallo – CAO & Co-Founder

As co-founder of TDC and Hydrofera, Mr. Rallo has direct responsibility for the day to day operations of over 40 employees as well as finance, administration and quality assurance. Prior to co-founding TDC and Hydrofera, Mr. Rallo served as Sr. VP of Finance and Adminstration at American White Cross, a $90M public company and at Johnson & Johnson.

Mr. Rallo holds a B.S in accounting from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA in Finance, University of Arkansas as Little Rock.

Heather Sherman Somers – VP Marketing & Regulatory & Co-Founder

As VP Marketing for Hydrofera, Ms. Somers has dual responsibilities including both Sales and Marketing to Hydrofera’s existing and new fortune 1000 customers as well as responsibility for Regulatory and Quality Functions including FDA submissions, protocols, clinical trials, and compliance audits. Prior to co –founding Hydrofera Ms. Somers served in various Marketing positions at Merocel Corporation (Medtronic), General Dynamics, and The May Company.

Ms Somers hold a BA in Ecomonics and English from the University of Connecticut and has served on many civic Boards and Commissions such as the State of CT Public Health Fund Trustee, the Mayor of Groton and Town Councilor, Finance Committee, and Public Health and Safety – Town of Groton CT.

Dr. Edward Shanbrom – Chief Medical Advisor

Dr. Shanbrom received his BS in Biology from Alleghany College and his MD from University of Buffalo School of Medicine (now SUNY – Buffalo) Following a Fellowship at Yale he was a clinical instructor at both UCLA and UCI medical schools.

Later he became VP if medical and Scientific Affairs at the Hyland Division of Baxter Laboratories in the late 1960s where he developed a breakthrough therapy which made it possible for those suffering from Hemophilia to lead more normal lives.

In the mid 1970s, Shanbrom left Hyland to conduct independent research in the field of blood purification. He is considered one of the leaders in the use of detergents and other natural products to destroy viruses, bacteria and other contaminants in blood. The New York Blood Center bought his patented processes in 1988.

As part of his independent work Dr Shanbrom developed the core patents behind the double-dye method of viral/bacterial inactivation. Since 2002 Dr. shanbrom has been working as Hydrofera’s Medical advisor, through his Company – Shanbrom Technologies and has exclusively licensed his double-dye patent to TDC.

Theodore L. Heying Ph D – Chief Technology Advisor

Doctor Heying has been serving as the top technical authority in Hydrofera since 1999. Prior to working with Hydrofera, Dr. Heying served as Director of research for Olin Corporation, one of the oldest and most respected chemical companies in the US.

Dr. Heying receieved a M.S. in chemistry at the University of Loyola of Maryland, his MS in Organic Chemistry at the College of the Holy Cross and his PhD in Chemisty at the University of Maryland.

Prof. Heying holds 37 patents and over 50  publications and books.
